Mauricio Limon was trained in Visual Arts at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and Industrial Desing at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. He was recently nominated by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation for the Future Generation Art Prize 2014 as well as for 2014 Tamayo Biennial. Limon has been awarded by The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Annual Grant 2010. And Jóvenes creadores Grant-FONCA 2011. His work involves processes of personal bonding within specific social contexts through different medias such as painting, drawing, performance and video. His work has been exhibited in Mexico, United States and Europe at: Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico (2003,2006), Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid (2005), Musee d'art Contemporain du Val de Marne, Paris (2007), Casa Luis Barragán, México (2007), Museo de Arte Moderno, México (2008, 2010), Centre Pompidou, Paris (2008) Galeria Hilario Galguera, México (2008-2010) Laroche/Joncas (before Projex-Mtl), Quebec (2010-2011) Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo-CA2M, Madrid (2010); San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco,(2010-2011) School Museum of Fine Arts, Boston MA.
