簡介

Amy Cheng was born in Taiwan and raised in Brazil, Oklahoma and Texas. She received her BFA degree in painting from the University of Texas at Austin, and her MFA degree in painting from Hunter College, City University of New York.

She has completed a number of public art commissions including a hand-painted ceramic mural at the  Howard St. El Station in Chicago; a mosaic column at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport; seven faceted glass windscreens at the Cleveland Street Subway Station in Brooklyn, New York; four laminated glass windscreens at the 25th Avenue Subway Station in Brookly, NY, a mosaic mural at the Jacksonville, FL Airport, and two ceramic tile murals at the Lambert-St. Louis Airport.

She has had solo exhibitions at the Turchin Center for Visual Art in Boone, NC, the Tower Fine Arts Gallery at the State University of New York at Brockport, Gallery 456 and Penny Liebman Contemporary Art in New York City, the Harrison Gallery in Boca Raton, FL, and Art & Soul Gallery in Boulder, CO.

She has been awarded a Senior Fulbright Lecture/Research Award to Brazil, a P.S. 122 Studio Space residency, two New York Foundation for the Arts painting fellowships, and a travel grant to China from Arts International.

She is a Professor in the Art Department at the State University of New York at New Paltz.
