Reflection

Zeyno Pekünlü, How to properly touch a girl so you don’t creep her out?, 2015, 19:10 min (nominated by Istanbul Modern); Mak Ying Tung, Disarming, 2013, 3:53 min (nominated by Para/Site Art Space, Hongkong); Fareeha Ghezal, Violence Against Women, 2010, 1:40 min (nominated by Centre for Contemporary Arts Afghanistan, Kabul); The Institute For New Feeling, This is Presence, 2016, 17:19 min (nominated by Ballroom Marfa, Texas)

How to properly touch a girl so you don't creep her out? unmasks the absurd advice of self-professed pick-up artists on the internet. In Disarming, the natural defenses of a cactus are put to the test. In Violence Against Women, Fareeha Ghezal in a poetical way deals with the search for one’s identity. An invisible user in This is Presence clicks through a network of endless website links and deeper and deeper delves into an online world full of self-optimizing products.
