ABOUT

This group exhibition with essays by thirteen contemporary artists, most of them born in the 1970s in Turkey and living in Istanbul, wants to René Block, the initiator of the exhibition, a "fresh south wind" through the documentation and Berlin Biennale let-month wave. This concept not only makes an attempt to work through the usual clichés of a smooth Turkish art. Rather, it was met with the co-curator Ece Pazarbaşı from Istanbul is a very careful selection of artists and works that well alone . you can stand on its critical gaze on all aspects of our daily life: society, politics, history and culture, as well as their resistance and cross-links.

National identity characteristics or write-ups are by no means be denied. It is rather in proving that the newly flourishing in recent years the art scene in Turkey is no longer focused exclusively on traditional patterns. Cevdet Erek, Ha Za Vu to Nuri Kuzucan, Ali Serkan Özkaya Miharbi and interpret everyday life and urban and enrich it with personal items. The cooperation of Banu Cennetoglu with Yasemin Ozcan and Shiri Zinn draw attention to the institutional critique. Güneş Terkols work developed new forms of aesthetics, art and outside the usual context. Their contribution to the exhibition was created in a workshop with women from Berlin at Ballhaus Naunynstraße. Vahit Tuna and Asli Cavusoglu criticize politics and social history in a fun way. Bashir Borlakov creates photographic productions with historical references and pictorial elements of dream sequences.
