ABOUT

This is the first solo exhibition at an American museum by Scottish artist Martin Boyce, whose sculptural works and installations explore the legacy of modernist art, architecture, and design’s impact on contemporary culture and social dynamics—as well as its reinterpretation of natural forms. Boyce has established himself as one of the foremost figures in contemporary art during the past two decades, receiving the prestigious Turner Prize in 2011 and representing Scotland at the 2009 Venice Biennale.

This survey exhibition presents work drawn from throughout Boyce’s career, and is accompanied by a fully illustrated book of scholarly essays and previously unpublished plans, drawings, sketches, and source materials—providing unprecedented insight into the artist’s working process.
