APT artist Birthe Blauth is participating the group show
IDOL, Prehistoric and contemporary women pictures.

Organized by the GEDOK Munich, a traditional, interdisciplinary artists organization, works of German and Austrian artists will be shown. Prehistoric Idol figures and contemporary art make the bow, before the exhibition explores perspectives and alternative concepts of female identity. The historical figures reflect a multifaceted worship of the feminine. No less dazzling are present, social allocations female identity. Works by 21 artists reflect critical position, explore potentials and focus on the formulation of counter designs.

In addition to the "Four Graces" from Austria (Petra Gell, Mela Kaltenegger, G.Maria weather and Susanna Black), who were in July 2015 a guest at the International Artists' House Villa Waldberta, following other artists interact with: Dörthe Bäumer, Birthe Blauth, Miriam Elia, Sabine Groschup, Stephanie Guse, Jessica Kallage-idol, Augusta Laar, Maria Lassnig, Ina Loitzl, Claudia-Maria Lünig (Villa-Waldberta Fellow 2013), Nina Annabelle Märkl, Elisabeth Melkonyan, Cirenaica Moreira, Shirin Neshat, Paula Scamparini , Christiane Spatt (Villa-Waldberta Fellow 2013), Rose Stach, Susanne Thiemann, Martina Cherni.

 

Birthe Blauth work- On the nature of female Idols

Using the posture of a type of archaic idol figures the faceless, unindividual woman in a provocative way declares herself to be an idol. Her skin is treated digitally like that of the female beauties in the magazines, her pose is that of a dominant man.
