ABOUT

The sample was developed over ten rooms and a courtyard that allows the walker to discover one of the facilities from the outside, an open look from the main street. The rooms are distributed on the basis of these three colors, so finding us a couple of dedicated exclusively to red and blue respectively enclosures and a large space for yellow, reserving the remaining development of general concepts arising from the three colors together.

To start the tour the public will find a living illustrating the overall approach from a chart outlining the proposed and where a three-meter wide loom weaver of Teotitlan del Valle will weave a tapestry of the draft during the time in order the exhibition is open.

The next space is focused on music and synesthesia, two key concepts developed by the research. Continuing the analysis of the correlation between these two ideas, several works revolve around a key part of the project: a loom transformed into a musical instrument.

From here we move to the red room, where they share a body of work ranging from embroidered on the collection of cochineal, based on the illustrations of José Antonio Alzate, 1794 "Benefit cochineal" through video, sculpture and installation. These rooms also allow us to see from your windows installation yard red walls, tables made from cactus with scarlet own from birth and at different stages of growth.

The Blue Rooms also show part of the process of realization of indigo from esculturización battery and used to produce a warping, accompanying skeins in different variations of blue hanging on coat rack carved in the shape of branches, commonly known as scribbles.

The ratio of mineral pigments sound is the essence of the yellow room, from a sound piece with ceramic ocarinas up to sixteen shades of yellow, shaped like birds of different sizes that determine the different resulting colors.

The tour culminates in two rooms where three colors are present in different forms: videos, recipes for making colors, embroidered or through phrases - and accompanied by bordador- you somewhat unusual as "octopuses turn red when angry "," we see green frogs but are yellow "or" white cats with blue eyes are deaf. " Somehow here we realize that this could well be the beginning of the exhibition, since the route works bidirectionally.

The techniques and tools are present at all times: from the facility where scarlet grinding stones crushed to produce the red, rowing battery plant indigo dyers pots or gourds for yellow pigments . The hand of the master of the tradition is thus doubly present.

And one of the key points of the exhibition is the ownership and claim the traditional process to take the context of the contemporary. This idea is not only externalized through the works but also from performative section that becomes key to the project: some of the craftsmen run their work within the exhibition space, as well as trigger various actions will be developed.

The overall objective is, above all, to create a kind of system of systems that introduces the viewer in a sensory environment of transmission of knowledge and subjectivities that arises simultaneously open map as a personal interpretation and reinterpretation multiple channels and opening new potential.
