ABOUT

The exhibition Fiery Greetings draws a new picture of the socialist Yugoslavia, in which childhood and growing up in the foreground. Nine artists from the region worked with historical archives and formulate a dialogue between artistic intervention and state document. Fiery Greetings asks about the possibility of collective and individual memory of a country that no longer exists. 
The starting point of the project are numerous photo albums that took President Tito of Yugoslavia schools and children's organizations from 1945 until his death in 1980 in receiving. For these gifts comes also the titular flaming greeting, the Fiery Greetings. In more complex way is visible, as the population is afforded its president and the founding principles of the federal Yugoslavia were in everyday life of socialist hope, youth, implemented. 
The exhibition takes place on the occasion of this year's FotoDoks Festival, which from 13 to 18. October takes place and chose as a partner region the former Yugoslavia. www.fotodoks.de
