Hrag Vartanian is the editor-in-chief and co-founder of Hyperallergic, the world’s leading art blogazine. Vartanian writes and lectures about contemporary art, performance, multiculturalism, politics, the internet, literature, and visual culture.

He has been invited as a guest commentator on Al Jazeera, WNYC, and has been quoted in the New York Times, New York Observer, Daily News, and elsewhere. His work has appeared in countless publications and he regularly lectures on the art world online. Vartanian also had a role in the recent HBO documentary, "Banksy Does New York."

In addtion to his writing, Vartanian has curated a number of shows, including "#TheSocialGraph" (2010), the first exploration of social media art, "On Display" (2011) at the Storefront Gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and "Walking Into the Dashboard" (2013), an exhibition, catalogue, and symposium exploring how Tumblr is being used as an artistic medium by artists and creative amateurs around the world.

Vartanian also maintains an extensive archive of images (10,000+) on Flickr, which he has uploaded under a Creative Commons 2.0 license so that anyone can use them with proper credits and links.
