ABOUT

Louis Vuitton and Art A symbol of French elegance and savoirvivre, Louis Vuitton has maintained close links with the art world for more than 150 years. As pioneers of the art of travel, Louis Vuitton and his successors have forged a strong relationship between traditional know-how and contemporary design. The arrival of Marc Jacobs as artistic director in 1997 reinforced Louis Vuitton's ties with artists, notably through exemplary collaborations with Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince. In Hong Kong, the Louis Vuitton and Art exhibition brings this exciting story to life illustrating the creative process through installations combining works of art and archive documents. Fondation Louis Vuitton pour la Création The Architectural Project The US based Iconic architect, Frank Gehry has designed a powerful and innovative building to embody the ambitions of the Fondation Louis Vuitton pour la Création. With the Jardin d'Acclimatation, he has successfully combined dreams and reality with technological and artistic innovation by using glass as the primary exterior material to complement its natural environment, plays a principal role in the architectural spirit and inspiration of the Fondation Louis Vuitton pour la Création. This premise will be located in the Bois de Boulogne, on the western side of the urban limit that defines Paris. It will be devoted to housing a series of galleries designed to accommodate both permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. Design Architect: Gehry Partners, LLP The Collection, a Choice This exhibition of a selection of works from the Fondation Louis Vuitton pour la Création brings together a number of significant large-scale works by European, American and Chinese artists.
