BIOGRAPHY
Lu Zhengyuan (b. 1982, Dalian, China) graduated from and now teaches at Central Institute of Fine Arts, Beijing, China, and currently lives and works in Beijing.

The long and strict training has built up Lu Zhengyuan great sculpting techniques, but his exploration never confines to the field of sculpture. His artistic antenna has stretched to the fields of painting, installation and video, where he also made fruitful achievements. With his diversity, Lu has challenged the fixed identity and style of art. Each of his artworks is distinct and precise, but after gathering all his works, we are unable to conclude an integral identity and style of him. No one can define Lu and his art in one sentence as he is always challenging himself, identities and styles. He wished to prove that he focuses more on spiritual pursuit by realizing his own value.

His works have been shown at many important exhibitions at home and abroad, such as the Shanghai Biennale, Shenzhen International Sculpture Biennale, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, China Art Museum, Museum of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai Long Museum, Today Art Museum, Beijing Times Art Museum, Australia White Rabbit Gallery, Lisbon, Portugal Museum of Art, Chile Cultural Center of Providencia, Germany Bonn Contemporary Art Center.
