BIOGRAPHY

Alessadro Ceresoli was born in Romano di Lombardia in 1975. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Alessandro is interested in the creative act and how this investigation involves the subject and its individuality. His drawings are the core of his research, around which he develops projects of different forms and nature. In his works on paper there is an allegorical aspect to the conscience of a process, a flow of signs that brings a sense of the world and the reality. The excess of forms and signs are similar to a stratification of information, of images and thoughts, that aspire to a monochrome appearance that is comparable to a volatile and unstable surface.

Ceresoli's works do not immediately connote a visual style that is initially recognizable. His work is the result of research, a haunting and obsessive process. Behind the conception and production of any object is the hidden effort behind the process. The interesting part of his work is the way in which the process is presented, as the hard work is not readable. In the end, by respecting a fairly accurate conceptual consistency, we discover a certain freshness that is the result of the use of different techniques and media.

Selected exhibitions include a solo exhibition at Castello Sforzesco in Milan and group shows at Andrew Mummery Gallery in London, carlier gebauer in Berlin, Villa delle Rose Bologna, Macro Museo Arte Contemporanea in Rome and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin.

Alessandro Ceresoli is currently represented by Francesca Minini in Milan. He lives and works in Milan and Berlin.
