BIOGRAPHY
Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez lives and works in Berlin. She studied with Rosemarie Trockel at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and obtained her Masters in sculpture from the Royal College of Art London in 2005. Echeverri Fernandez’s sculptures, videos, performances and fotogramms are assemblages constructed through a complex process of layering and juxtapositioning. Obsolete objects and historical forms are reworked to suggest alternatives to their previous functions and ideological referents. In this way, Echeverri Fernandez’s works form a new structure, inter-webbed and history- less, altering their reading as well as the order, and possibilities, of the past, present and future. Her work has been shown internationally in institutions and galleries including:

Barbican (London), Kunstverein (Düsseldorf), Museum Ludwig (Cologne) Gagosian Madison Avenue (New York), 176 Project Space (London), L'Espace de l'Art Concrete (Mouans-Sartoux), Triangle France (Marseille), ICA (London), CCA (Glasgow), Carl Freedman Gallery (London), Akinci Gallery (Amsterdam), Bloomberg Space, (London), Lisa Cooley Gallery (New York), Outpost (Norwich).
