TIỂU SỬ

Born in 1977, lives and works in Kanagawa, Japan. Atsushi Nakaya primarily works on paintings and sculptures. His constant use of bright colors, circular forms, and the motif of a deformed popular character, which looks like a lump of organs or flesh, depicts the ambivalent subjectivities embodied in contemporary society.

After obtaining Master of Fine Art at Kanazawa College of Art in 2003, he has showed widely in Japan. His solo exhibitions include "RINGOROME" in Kanazawa in 2005 and "UNDREAM in Woner World" at Tokyo Wonder Site in 2006. He participated in many other group exhibitions such as "GEISAI #10" organized by Takashi Murakami in 2006.

Atsushi Nakaya is represented by Gallery MoMo, Tokyo.
