"Basically, I impose my rules, to be completely free." - As the French author Georges Perec once described his working method. In his epic work   The living. Instructions   (1978) he limited the scope for action on a fictitious block with 99 rooms. Within this artificial setting and using a self-imposed strict control system he piled various interwoven narratives into a complex novel structures. Perec showed not only that the banal breeding ground for the Great, the poetic and the bizarre may be alike, but hunt a focus on the relationships that opens up between things.

The geographical concentration as curatorial approach, the exhibition proposes   #Les Enfants de Bötzow   the way a Creative self-restraint in order to show that each of rules in its turn opens up new scope. The ten artists who play on the temporary branch of the project area Location Does not matter in Linienstraße 141 for seven months, combines that they all live in Bötzowviertel / work - that neighborhood where also locates Location Does not matter is determined in five years.

The artists come together to two presentations, this sequence is complemented by two exhibitions in which all ten participants are represented by works - in this sense, can be understood as a stretched over a longer period group show the entire series. This stretched in time spatial compression can also be found as an allusion in the title of the exhibition, of the long-term documentation   The Children of Golzow   refers, were accompanied in the eighteen residents of the same place over a period of more than forty years. In contrast to this filmic time document will   #Les Enfants de Bötzow   the artists of the district not documented, but with the space in the middle platform both as also create opportunity for content and form crosslinks.
