ABOUT

In 2016 the panels disappeared in the colonnade quarter, which reminded the Ez Chaim synagogue. In 1922, it was the largest Orthodox synagogue in Leipzig and, like many other synagogues and houses of the city, was destroyed in 1938. In cooperation with the Bürgerverein Kolonnadenstraße, Fabian Reimann, member of the Projekt Kaufhaus Joske and the KV – Association for Contemporary Art Leipzig will take the disappearance of the panels as an occasion to reflect in a public event with invited speakers how a memory culture can look like in history and culture Present, remembrance, and action.
