Öğüt – Macuga

The exhibition is the result of Witte de With Director Defne Ayas’ pairing of two of the most important critically engaged artists of our times; Goshka Macuga and Ahmet Öğüt. Executed in two episodes—the first steered this Summer by Öğüt, and the second by Macuga in the Fall—the project lays bare the pair’s attempt to formulate a methodology with which to survey their respective practices, a process subject to misinformation and misunderstanding along the way, as much as generosity of ideas, commitment of time, and peer-to-peer play.
