JENS HAUSMANN und VANESSA HENN – zu Gast aus Berlin

We would like to cordially invite you to the exhibition of the two Berlin-based artists Vanessa Henn and Jens Hausmann in the gallery Eigenheim in Weimar. We look forward to your visit to the opening on Friday the 02.06. At 7 pm, at which the artists will be present.

 

If the works of Hausmann and Henn are different in the subject, they are thematically in the critique of modernity in a value-free sense. Jens Hausmann puts modernist architecture in the forefront in his landscape paintings. The main motif of his paintings are buildings between the viewer and a possible landscape space - the totalitarian tendency of modernity is noticeable.

Houses such as modern house, 24 / der Bau, 2 become almost a sculpture and a parable for the human need for protection in connection with a certain aggression that comes from fear of the complexity of the outside world. In her linear objects of this exhibition, Vanessa Henn deconstructs an element known to us from modernist buildings - PVC-coated handrails of stairs.
