From the Observatory is the title of an individual exhibition by Adriana Bustos (Bahía Blanca, Argentina, 1965), which is a sample of her research and interests and also a journey through three series of artworks: Anthropology of the Mule  (Antropología de la mula) (2007-2011), Who Says What to Whom?(¿Quién dice quién a qué?) (2016-2017) and a series of recent production works titled The Return of the Repressed(El retorno de lo reprimido) (2017).

The project takes the title form a book by Julio Cortázar (2011), in which the the writer narrates his own vision about a historical fact. The title synthesizes Adriana Busto's work, wherein she makes clear in her work her role as an observer of history, and in addition, the meaning of prose, which can be understood, among its many meanings, as "the aspect or facet of things in opposition to the ideal or the idea of perfection found in them".

Her work is focused on issues of geopolitical and cultural hegemonies and subalternities. Interested in documentary practices, Adriana Bustos uses the installation, photography, drawing and video as production supports and narrative instruments. Her works propose a playful reading about the Argentine reality through which she initiates connections to and from the Old Continent, both geographically and chronologically. Through them she reflects on religious, political and social oppression.
