A Place to Play

Claire Barclay and Donna Jamieson have developed this collaborative project with the Rathbone TOPS (Training Opportunities for Young Parents) programme in response to Claire’s Tramway 2 exhibition, Yield Point. Donna has been working closely with the TOPS programme for over a year, during which time they have explored making as an essential ‘life-skill’, as a more sustainable approach to consumption and most recently as a small enterprise. These themes resonate with Claire. Her work touches upon the tension between human needs and industrialisation. Claire will be sharing her extensive hand making techniques with the group. For this project they will be making a ‘play den’ from offcuts and surplus from Claire's works.
