ABOUT

mOORE + gR[Ü]NERT is pleased to announce an exhibition by Laleh Khorramian.

Laleh Khorramian’s practice incorporates a prolific archive, a vocabulary of imagined otherworldly realms which originate out of stains and liquid paint marks found throughout her monotypes. The artist, with a distinct command of technique, effortlessly engages various mediums including; stop motion animation films, sound, monoprints, drawings, painted landscapes, portraits and collage. Most recently Khorramian has integrated her extensive background in clothing and costume design into a new body of 3D sculptural futuristic garments made from painted fabric.

An unorthodox sense of materiality along with insistent cinematic tones, coalesce into a choreographed kinetic force throughout her work. Khorramian mines the latent content of aesthetic form with storytelling, observing the psychological, metaphysical and emotional states of human nature like love, despair and alienation. Here time becomes irrelevant as she integrates fiction with spectacle and theater to explore the transience of living matter and its cycles of depletion and plenitude.

What gathering of divine beings converge here, a beat penetrates not heard yet seen in a fluttering vibration. In her nether world the veil grows thin, an archeological tapping of existing relics lodged between concurrent memories of past and future calling. Harmonized waves of layered forms evoke forgotten codes that lull and cajole the subconscious.
