"Threads of Sisterhood – A Solo Exhibition by Kurt Tong"

“Threads of Sisterhood” showcases newly created works by artist Kurt Tong. Combining new photographs, found photographs as well as several mixed media pieces, including two textile-based works made in collaboration with textile design artist Lai Garling. The exhibition retraces the life of Mak Ngan Yuk so far, an Amah who worked for Tong's family for nearly 40 years. The work pays tribute to Mak’s hard working, selfless and independent personality and acts as the starting point to explore generations of comb up women, giving a voice to thousands of unsung heroines.
