ABOUT

Factory ArtSpace is proud to present its inaugural show by Poissonblanc:

We recently acquired a truck load of pedestals from the Fischli and Weiss show at the Guggenheim Museum. After meeting the director of a large space, a former knitting factory, in Ridgewood/Bushwick at a bar, the artist/curatorial collective, Poissonblanc decided to put on a show. This three person collective chooses to remain anonymous, but as individuals have curated and organized numerous shows. Their approach is more casual than academic, more fun than fastidious, more Fischli than Weiss. The work in the show approaches the place of the pedestal in contemporary art in various ways, as a platform or frame and also as an object worthy of examination itself. The show takes its title from Frankenstein Admires a Flower, a work by Fischli and Weiss.

Artists represented in this show include: Frank Bacon, Michael Buckland, Marcy Chevali, Stacy Fisher, Emilie Frohlich, David Kramer, Carter Kustera, Lisa Levy, Stephanie Lindquist, Glendalys Medina, Björn Meyer-Ebrecht, MTAA, John Please, Shannon Sberna, Samuel Alexander Galbraith Smith*, Tania Roberts, Thomas Tait

*Samuel Smith’s participation is made possible by the New Brunswick Arts Board.
