Sanford Biggers: Hither and Yon

Massimo De Carlo London is delighted to inaugurate the 2016/2017 season with Hither and Yon, an exhibition by Sanford Biggers, a New York City based artist, born in Los Angeles, CA.

Biggers’ practice encompasses a range of mediums including film, installation, video, drawing, sculpture and performance. Through these various mediums, the artist challenges our given relationships to history with its established symbols and beliefs.

Biggers uses the historical information found within the objects he chooses to comment on contemporary culture. He creates innovative works through intervening directly on existing found objects or using recent technologies to reimagine traditional processes, seamlessly blurring the lines between high and low, new and old technology.
