ABOUT

Becky Beasley's 13 pieces, 17 feet is a monologue in thirteen parts, using multiple voices to follow an alternating structure between historical fictions and abstract texts. Performed by writer, performer and sound artist Melanie Wilson, and featuring Dylan Stone, this performance utilises the photographer Eadweard Muybridge's extraordinary 1878 panoramic photograph of San Francisco. Around this backdrop the texts are woven, culminating with the Miles brothers' 'A Trip Down Market Street', a piece of silent film taken from a San Francisco tram in 1906.
