ABOUT

APT artist Nancy Friedemann is participating  Owning It: Engendering Consciousness, a group show at UNL's Love Library curated by members of the UNL Social Practice Coalition in conjunction with Women’s Week. The exhibition challenges mainstream notions of power and ownership with feminist alternatives for conscious empowerment. With a focus on ordinary acts of self-will, passivity, resistance and what happens in-between, OWNING IT is a reaction to binary systems which require the marginalization of many for the benefit of a few.

Nineteen artists will be participating in the Library exhibition: APT artist Nancy Friedemann-Sanchez, Sarah Berkeley, Patricia Davis, APT artist Nancy Friedemann-Sanchez, Natasha Greenwade, Lisa Guevara, Michael Hootman, Cortland Kerwin, Gretchen Larson, Phoebe Little, Ryann Lynn, Sam Mack, Mo Neal, Rebecca DeNell, Liana Owad, Ashley Ryba, Gabrielle Valdez, Jonathan Walz, Stella Wang and Emily Wiethorn.

Seventeen artists will have their work screened at The Cube:  Stacy Asher, Matt Bailey, Lexi Bass, Sarah Berkeley, Amanda Breitbach, Hannah Piper Burns, Kate Bingamin-Burt, Madeline Cass, Anna Drehs, Banchi Hanuse, Mo Neal, Collin Rasmussen, Carlos Velasco, Elizabeth Watson, Jonathan Walz, Rachel Whelan and Rana Young. The artists represent all ages and career stages, from undergraduates to established artists, to represent mentorship across generations of activists.
