WHAT IS QUEER PHOTOGRAPHY?

APT arttist  Mei Xian Qiu is participating "Round Hole, Square Peg", this is an open-call, juried photography show, conceived with the intent to question and acquire a new LGBTQ visual aesthetic for the 21st century. The exhibition will open at Photo LA, January 21, 2016, headlining the Artist’s Corner Gallery booth at the fair.   After Photo LA, the show will move to the Artist’s Corner Gallery in Los Angeles’ Santa Monica Boulevard Arts District.  The gallery will be making an exhibition catalogue that will contain a full bleed image and contact information of those artists selected to show at Photo LA for sale at the fair.

This 25 year edition of Photo LA, is the longest running fine art fair in California and harnesses Los Angeles’ growing importance in the international art market.   Last year featured almost 50 exhibitors from around world and attendance was over 10,000.  The fair holds seminars, lectures parties and a gala, special opening night VIP vernissage for press, exhibitors, artists and important collectors.
