And the last shall be the first: G.R. Iranna Works 1995-2015

NGMA Bengaluru, in collaboration with The Guild Art Gallery, is happy to announce the inauguration of the exhibition "And the last shall be the first: G.R. Iranna Works 1995-2015", curated by renowened international curator Shri Ranjit Hoskote. G.R. Iranna is an APT artist. The exhibition will offer viewers a museum- level mid-career survey of the artist`s engagement, bringing together a variety of works representing two decades of his oeuvre. These works will include painting on canvas, watercolors, drawings, sculptures and installations, and will bear witness to the depth and range of Iranna`s artistic explorations as well as those works that have rarely been viewed.

The exhibition will draw on the artist`s upbringing and early student years in Karnataka, as well as addressing his subsequent career as a Delhi-based artist working in the context of global contemporay art. Irranna has a diversified, innovative and intellectually engaged practice. He is one of the very significant artists of his generation and has numerous awards acclaims to his credit.
