ABOUT

David Shrigley is the subject of a major British Council international touring solo exhibition titled ‘Lose Your Mind'. The exhibition which forms part of the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2015 will open at the Instituto-Cultural-Cabañas in Guadalajara, Mexico on 26 November 2015.

The exhibition will highlight the breadth of Shrigley's practice and will feature important works such as his well-known and darkly witty taxidermy pieces, including ‘Ostrich', 2009, which was recently acquired by the collection of the British Council. Other prominent pieces include 'Beginning, Middle and End', 2009, a sprawling clay work which will spread throughout the gallery space. Also on display will be ‘Cheers', 2007, a pair of rubber fisherman's waders from which polyurethane foam spills curiously out of. There will also be a presentation of animated films, drawings and further sculptural works.

The exhibition has been curated by Katrina Schwarz of the British Council and will tour next year to Chile, Korea, and New Zealand.
