ABOUT

For the second year, the castle is transformed into a "field of whispers", the park and the outbuildings are available to the imagination of artists invited to this heritage site resonate with the creation of today. A dive in the heart of the sound, in all its forms and its materiality, through works, devices and facilities designed as so many singular environments, both audible, visual and even tactile.

The exhibition showcases the sounds and senses. It combines in different thematic approaches a majority of new creations and performed on the spot in connection with the surrounding architecture and nature, and existing works, revisited for the occasion.

Sound as "place of memory" or as "contemplation space and transfiguration of reality" to sound like "Game Territory", the proposed path shuffleboard and invites visitors to walk her curiosity a listening ear to build its own sensory experience.

An audible and visual journey Strongly inspired by the spirit of the domain and the sound identity of the Camargue some artists have chosen to place us at the heart of facilities or soundscapes "increased" (Lauvin Gregory and Peter Sinclair). Later in the park works play with the sounds of nature and its inhabitants. Artifices of art and nature blend with happiness and questions with humor our complex and sometimes contradictory relationship to the environment (Laurent Gongora, gethan & myles).

Others, installed in technical outbuildings around the castle and explore the material first sound using acoustic devices, machines sounds or words that make rustling these places full of history (s), releasing imaginary echoes and reviving a buried memory (Chéné Marie and Pascal Messaoudi, Bertrand Gadenne) . These works, unpublished and designed for places that gather the action, install the viewer in listening carefully, invited him to be guided by stories or harmonies from elsewhere. Here, time contracts and we can experience the haunting presence of the invisible energies.Sculpt, draw or represent sound material, materialize its rhythm and frequency, are another series of experiments which suits us Thierry Wet, Emmanuel Rivière, Dominique Blais, Pierre-Laurent and Bertille Bak Cassière. The sound here is visual and sculptural. Embodied in objects, perceptible forms or visible through tracks and video images, it reveals unsuspected plastic qualities and symbolic force. These pieces immerse the visitor in a confusing sensory experience, proceeding by sliding from one meaning to another, hearing the views and sight to touch.

Finally, at the White House, the meadow becomes a playground and sound experiments, curious machine noises or moving to offer the look and handling. Animated and interactive instruments, diverted objects and fun, turning, slam, vibrate and resonate their material into a symphony of noises composite (Mathias Isouard, François Cys).

A fun way to make life in the "machines", always present on the site, which was the pride of the former owner, marking its membership in this technique and sound modernity.
