ABOUT

Through the language of contemporary art and the work of some of the greatest artists of our time, the City Gallery offers contemporary, yet urgent investigation ecology. On display some 50 works by international artists such as Matthew Barney, Joseph Beuys, Christo and Tony Cragg, Olafur Eliasson, Petrit Halilaj, Ibrahim Mahama, AntoniTàpies and great Italians such as Giuseppe Penone, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Mario Schifano, Willy Verginer and younger Cagol, David Coulter,  Francesco Matuzzi, Sassolino and Elisa Sighicelli.

Confirming vocation of the Civic Gallery and its link with the territory, are also on display, in a renewed dialogue between local and international works of David Aaron Angels, Juri Neil, Marco Nones, Michele Parisi, Federico Seppi.

Starting from the suggestions of some of the works in the collections of the Mart, which are added loans from galleries and private collections, the exhibition aims accompany visitors along a free, diverse and not dogmatic on a  leitmotif of contemporary debate. A works with a strong political content is alongside such works sometimes ironic or more lyrical, in an exploration not the unique relationship between man and nature has always been subject to analysis and, at the same time, of inspiration for scholars, researchers, artists.
