ABOUT

Valeska Soares' installation Time Has No Shadows attempts to give form to the passage of time and connect its ungraspable infiniteness with the slipperiness of language and the instability of meaning.

Brazilian-born, New York-based artist Valeska Soares presents Time Has No Shadows as the latest focus of theUsing Walls, Floors, and Ceilingsexhibition series. Soares's installation of an immense carpet, poetic texts, and antique pocket watches fills the lobby of the Jewish Museum. Time Has No Shadows draws on the artist's enduring fascination with the subjectivity of time and language, while it also explores the history of Jewish migration and resettlement.
