ABOUT

Frédérique Nalbandian working on small and large scale sculpture, scalable installation, achieving in situ drawing. It manipulates two substances: soap and plaster, staged by direct and experimental procedures, close to improvisation. They form water with the foundations of his practice. "A thousand liters" is an evolving sculpture, intended to turn over exhibitions over several years. It is composed of a soap mold, a water tank of 1000 liters and a metal holding tank. The volume is worked / shaped by natural erosion and free water, more specifically in its lower part via drilled holes provided for this purpose. Grooves become deeper and further processing will be formed during exposure creating a new body. This work in progress is an experimental space in which the subject is active. After a first presentation in 2013 at the Paris Fair and in June in the Park of the White House in Marseille, "A thousand liters" today continues its spatiotemporal route and its metamorphosis to Eva Vautier Gallery.
