ABOUT

The landscapes are full of symbolism and define not only places but also the people who inhabit them. People adapt to the different contexts in which they live, or are forced to live, but often their cultural background creates evolving loaded with meaning and symbolism that may well be reflected in a garden internal landscapes. Under this premise Carrion Juanli visual artist creates his public art project 'OSS' (Outer Seed Shadow) that takes the form of geopolitical grounds. Carrion began this project, which embodies the link between wildlife and human interaction, in New York in 2014 where he held a similar facility in Soho to discuss immigration Manhattan. Now use the same geopolitical parameters for this year's project in Valencia. OSS # VLC (Outer Seed Shadow: Valencia), produced by the University of Valencia, is embodied in a garden installed in the Cloister of the Cultural Centre La Nau, which reproduces map of the city of Valencia through chosen by 19 immigrants during interviews with them about their history and cultural identity adaptive plants.  For three months, the garden will serve as a backdrop for the development of a structured investigation of a series activities open to the public. The facility will operate as a community garden, around which workshops with different social groups such as the CEAR (Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid) or Valencian schools, which give the garden maintenance and care to ensure the survival of all organized plants as the interaction between them are analyzed to discuss his analogy with society.
