ABOUT

In 1975, the International Cultural Centre of Cerisy, Philippe and Pierre Oster Bonnefis organized in the presence of Ponge, a symposium titled "Ponge inventor and classic" (whose first acts published in 10/18 were reissued by the Hermann editions in the collection Cerisy / Archives) which lit the proximity of the writer to the steps of the neo-avant-garde of the time (from As Is to Digraphe) and approached his work as fashionable approaches of the "new criticism "(formalist poetry, linguistic or rhetorical inspiration). Forty years later, it seems essential to take stock of the place of this major author in the literary landscape, artistic and contemporary university. In France, the theoretical and critical climate has changed, as well as objective knowledge of the work , now available in the Library of the Pleiades and enhanced by precious annexes workshops Pages (Gallimard, 2005) or the corpus enough off the published correspondence Ponge (with Camus, Mandiargues Paulhan, Thibaudeau, Tortel). This body continues to enrich (Correspondence with Prigent being published) and allows to observe the "factory" of a figure and a poet posture (or non-poet) in the closed field of a landscape (relationships with colleagues, friends, publishers, magazines, etc.).It is also necessary to take the measure of what is going to sign - and sometimes lesson - for many (young) writers or artists (painters, sculptors, musicians), or even for the actors still more to stage his texts. Abroad, Ponge translations are increasing (especially in Latin America or Japan) to interview and require new methods of receiving this author. Equally remarkable is the insertion of the writer in the corpus academic (systematic use in "writing workshops" or curriculum). Sponge remains at the heart of the most contemporary creation workshops and reflection: it is necessary to evaluate the reasons of such news and to specify the different modalities.
