Conservation

Ariel Reichman (B. 1979, Johannesburg. live and works in Berlin) works in variable Medias such as painting, photography, video, performance and installation in order to investigate the physical and mental gap between the public and the intimate space. In his current show, Reicman relates to the gallery's conserved building, which stands still and carries within a long history. In contrast, he relates to the interior and the gallery plaster walls, temporary walls which are designed to be changed frequently depending on the nature of a constantly changing exhibition space. By bringing structural and external elements into the interior Reichman asks to appeal this structural and temporal dichotomy.
