Frequently Asked

Frequently Asked is a participatory performance in the Israel Museum's permanent collection galleries that stems from Cnaani's interest in the variety of ways in which museum knowledge is being formed, transformed and spread orally between educators and their audiences, peers, museum employees and art professionals. For this performance, Ofri Cnaani worked with 25 of the museum's volunteer tour-guides (aka docents) in order to create 25 private walk-throughs, which bring to the front not only the art but also the role of the docent as a translator and mediator.
