Fausto Fernandez is a mixed media collage artist originally from El Paso, whose works include a variety of paintings, public art, and community engagement projects, through which he explores the relationship of nature and technology as they intersect with human behavior. Fernandez’s studio creations are colorful, geometric mixed-media collages on canvas that depict flowers, tools, machines, aviation renderings, and image transfers. In August 2014, Fausto Fernandez will be the artist in residence at the Border Art Residency in La Union, New Mexico, for 10 months. Fausto is currently part of the group show Beauty Reigns: A Baroque Sensibility In Recent Painting traveling from the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio to the Akron Art Museum in Ohio.
