EXHIBITION

Constructed Identities

Ohio, Cleveland, 12/14/2014 - 04/26/2015

11150 East Boulevard

ABOUT

This exhibition, comprised primarily of work from the museum’s collection, examines some of the ways photography has been used to construct identities, whether fact or fiction. Many of the works will be recent acquisitions, including Patrick Nagatani’s 50-part visual saga detailing the Zen monk Ryoichi’s adventures leading an archeaological expeditionary force that discovers evidence of time travel; Andy Warhol’s Little Red Notebook with Polaroids of Mick Jagger posturing as a louche sex object; and Henri Cartier-Bresson’s glimpses into the family life of Robert F. Kennedy.
