Side Show at Yale

APT New York artist Lisa Kereszi is curating "Side Show" at Yale University.

Features work in a variety of media all dealing with the historical cultural phenomenon of the carnival sideshow, from lowbrow vernacular signage and folk sculpture to contemporary fine art by established artists. Artists include Diane Arbus, Arnold Mesches, John Waters, Joe Coleman and over seventy others. See here for much more information.

Exhibition is a literal side-show to the concurrent show on Coney Island at the Wadsworth Atheneum, which also includes work by Kereszi.

Opening with lecture by Ricky Jay and featuring performance piece by Mat Fraser and Julie Atlas Muz, among others, on January 13, 530pm, and a special performance by Coney Island Sideshows by the Seashore and a panel discussion featuring Todd Robbins and others on January 26th at 530pm.
