MIAMI 3 D

Design District, 12/02/2013 - 12/15/2013

ABOUT

Miami 3D is an exhibition focusing exclusively on Miami-based artists who work pre-eminently in a three-dimensional format, organized in conjunction with the International Sculpture Center's annual congress, hosted this year by The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University. The exhibition includes artists spanning three generations, from those active in the '60s and '70s, such as Robert Thiele, to the up-and-coming such as Alex Trimino and Loriel Beltran. Some of the artists will create site-specific installations responding to the peculiarity of the site, while others will showcase existing works representative of their most recent sculptural practice. Participating artists: Loriel Beltran, Felecia Chizuko Carlisle, Don Lambert, Michael Loveland, Lori Nozick, Ernesto Oroza, Kerry Phillips, Ralph Provisero, Robert Thiele, and Alex Trimino. Curated by Ombretta Agró Andruff. Project Manager: Laura Sheridan Raiffe of LASR ART. Opening on Dec 2, 6-10pm, through Dec 15, 2013.
