Kina Butik. Undtagelsestilstand

China Shop. State of Emergency is a group exhibition debating China as a cultural phenomenon and as a political superpower, seen from a Danish everyday point of view. The exhibition is made as a common artistic investigation of the history of China and particularly the massacre on the Tiananmen Square, which took place twenty years ago. Taking the shape of a total installation – a new Tiananmen Square – the exhibition will be subject to a set of rules that reflect the control millions of Chinese experience in their everyday life: A certain place in the exhibition you are not allowed to meet, one place you can’t walk, but only crawl, another place you can’t look at the work because you must face East. Participating artists: Kristina Ask, Ursula Reuter Christiansen, Jens Haaning, Jens Hultquist, Huskegruppen (Peter Brandt og Tomas Lagermand Lundme), Frans Jacobi, Tanja Rau & Olof Olsson, Lars Rank and Mette Winckelmann.
