No Base

No Base presents sculptures ”laying low”. The artworks are placed directly on the floor and thus continue the modernist break with the traditional elevated sculpture.

The works consist of familiar materials and objects surrounding us in everyday life, processed and put into new contexts, thus allowing us to contemplate upon them with a new perspective.

The exhibition also marks a break with modernism’s emphasis on the purely formal, in that the conceptual plays a central role behind the works reductive and seductive aesthetic.
