BIOGRAPHY

Sang-ah Choi (b.1971, Seoul, Korea) received a BFA and an MFA from Ewha Women’s University in Seoul, Korea and a second MFA from University of Illinois at Urbana, Champaign. 

Selected solo exhibitions include Apex series at Portland Art Museum (2013) in Portland, Insatiable appetite, Doosan Gallery (2010), Ultra Immortality, Sandra Gering Gallery (2004) in New York, Kyu-layering, Sarubia Dabang (2009) in Seoul, and Moremoremore, University gallery at Illinois State University in Illinois (2005).

Selected group exhibitions include We tells ourselves stories in order to live, Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland (2013), Art on Paper 2012, Weatherspoon Art Museum, North Carolina (2012), Future Pass, Venice, Wereld museum, Rotterdam, Today Art Museum, Beijing (2011), Four American Landscapes, Randolf College Museum, Virginia, George Adams Gallery, New York (2010), Animamix, Musuem of Contemporary Art, Shanghai (2009) and Fiction.Love, Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (2007).
