BIOGRAPHY
Aimée García was born in Matanzas, Cuba in 1972. She studied
at the Vocational School of Art, Matanzas, 1987; at the
Professional School of Art, Camaguey, 1991, and at the Superior
Institute of Art, Havana in 1996s. Since the mid-1990’s, she has
established herself as a painter and conceptual artist with a focus
on female identity, crafts practices and the Cuban political and
public sphere.
Her works can be found in public collections such as the
Arizona State University, ASU Art Museum, Arizona, U.S.A.; Museo
del Barrio, New York; Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, La Habana,
Cuba; Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad, La Habana, Cuba; Museum
of Finest Cuban Arts. MOFCA, Vienna, Austria; Jordan Schnitzer
