BIOGRAPHY

Ellen Lesperance (1971) lives and works in Portland, OR, and is represented by Adams and Ollman, Portland and Galerie Anne de Villepoix, Paris. She has exhibited her work in International venues including: the Drawing Center, the Brooklyn Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, OR, the Josh Lilley Gallery, London, Ambach & Rice Gallery, Los Angeles, Monya Rowe Gallery, New York, Artists Space, New York, Zeiher Smith & Horton, New York, Samson Projects, Boston, and the Elizabeth Leach Gallery, Portland, OR. Her work is represented in the following public collections: the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, the Brooklyn Museum; the Museum of Art and Design, the Portland Art Museum, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Kadist Art Foundation. The artist has received grants and awards from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, the Andy Warhol Foundation, Art Matters, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Puffin Foundation, and the Ford Family Foundation. Her work is included in Phaidon's 2013 Vitamin D2 Drawing Anthology, and it has been featured in publications including Art in America, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Tema Celeste, AnOther, USArt, GARAGE, Guernica, and Art Monthly.
