BIOGRAPHY

Born 1976 in Ottawa, Canada and currently lives in Glasgow. She has a BFA from Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada and an MFA from Glasgow School of Art. 

Ciara Phillips has had solo exhibitions at Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Kingston (2016), Western Front, Vancouver (2016), CCA Derry-Londonderry (2016), Konsthall C, Stockholm (2015), Bergen Kunsthall (2014), The Showroom, London (2013), Neues Museum Nürnberg (2013) and Inverleith House, Edinburgh (2013). Her participation in group exhibitions includes: British Art Show 8 in Leeds, Edinburgh, Norwich and Southampton (2015-17), Generation: 25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (2014), I was a double at the Tang Museum in Saratoga Springs (2014), There should be new rules next week at Dundee Contemporary Arts (2013), and a two-person exhibition with Corita Kent at Spike Island, Bristol (2012). 

Phillips is the founder of the artist collective Poster Club, and was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2014.
