BIOGRAPHY

Maitree Siriboon was born in 1983 in Ubon Ratchathani, a city located in the north-eastern region of Thailand. Around 10 years ago he moved to Bangkok, where he went on to receive his bachelor's degree in Thai Art from Silpakorn University. Maitree is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Bangkok Bank Art Award, and the Silpakorn Pradit Award. His art has been featured in an array of publications, such as The Nation, Elle, Contemporary Magazine, and Art Asia Pacific. Maitree incorporates much of his childhood landscape into his art, where one can view a colorful scheme of trees, farmers, rice paddies, and water buffalo.

Maitree's solo exhibitions include Buffalo's Heart (2013) at Thavibu Gallery, Rice is Art (2013) at Art Stage Singapore, Tree of Life (2012) at Project Space Luangprabang, Isan Disco House (2012) at Art Stage Singapore, Isarn Boy Soi 4 (2009) at Whitespace Gallery Bangkok, and Dream of Beyond (2006) at Whitespace Gallery Bangkok.
