BIOGRAPHY

Charles Irvin (b. 1971, Dallas, Texas) received his BFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin (1994) and his MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1997). Selected solo exhibitions include Mini-Wrong Gallery, Los Angeles (2007); Four Baboons Adoring the Rising Sun, WPA, Los Angeles, CA (2009); and Wuv is the Waw, Art Since the Summer of '69, New York, NY (2010). Selected group exhibitions include The Early Show, White Columns, New York, NY (2005); El Dorado, Museum of Modern Art, Luxembourg (2006); and 9 Lives—Visionary Artists from L.A., Hammer Museum, Los Angeles.

Charles Irvin is represented by WPA in Los Angeles and is a member in the artist’s collective/men’s group Dude Dogg. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
