BIOGRAPHY

David Rathman received his BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1982). Selected solo exhibitions include To Hell With Them Small Towns, Clementine Gallery, New York, NY (2001); Plumb Swole To A Strut, Mary Goldman Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2005); Keep Telling Me You're Sorry, Weinstein Gallery, Minneapolis, MN (2008); and Against a Crooked Sky, Larissa Goldston Gallery, New York, NY (2009). Selected group exhibitions include The Good, the Bad, the Ugly (two-person show), Galerie Weiland, Berlin, Germany (2002); Dialogues: Amy Cutler/David Rathman, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (2002); Today's Man, John Connelly Presents, New York, NY (2004); The Old, Weird America, Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston, TX (2008); and Every Man's Life is a Fairytale, Larissa Goldston Gallery, New York, NY (2008). His work is included the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, Walker Art Center, New Museum, Getty Museum, Yale University Library, New York Public Library and Boston Public Library, among many others.

Rathman is represented by Ameringer McEnery Yohe in New York. He lives and works in Minneapolis.
